Merle Yoder

Merle Yoder and James Yoder are Percheron horse breeders in Fredericksburg, Ohio, in Holmes County and northeastern Ohio near Columbus. They have worked with draft horses for more than fifteen years and maintain active membership with a national Percheron breeders association. All breeding stock undergoes regular health and soundness evaluations to support long-term welfare. They work alongside regional veterinarians and farriers to ensure balanced nutrition and sound hoof care for all ages.

Their farm combines rotational grazing with daily handling to foster well-mannered foals and foundation training for driving or draft work. Each foaling season is accompanied by detailed foal health reports and gradual introduction to harness work on the yard track. Horses live in open barns with stall access and join the family during seasonal chores. The Yoders’ agricultural heritage is reflected in their meticulous barn restoration, a gathering place for fellow enthusiasts during annual foal days.
