The farm spans over 845 acres of fields and forests, with 275 acres of pastureland dedicated to a grass-fed, hormone-free program that has been part of the region's agricultural landscape since the mid-1990s.

The herd of around 130 belted Galloways is raised in a low-stress environment, grazing on open pasture during the warmer months and sustained through the winter on hay and haylage the farm produces itself. The Downings are known for maintaining some of the oldest belted Galloway genetics in the country, with animals bred in all three recognized color varieties. The program covers both beef production and show and breeding stock, with bulls and show animals that have earned recognition at local, regional, and national levels.
