Matt Boelens

Matt Boelens, Percheron horses, East Moline, IL, Rock Island County and the Quad Cities near Davenport. He has worked with Percheron horses for more than ten years and holds membership in the American Percheron Horse Association. His breeding stock undergoes industry-standard health screenings, including regular veterinary exams and genetic testing.

Each horse is raised on pasture with daily turnout and early handling to build trust and resilience. Foals grow up in a mixed-species environment alongside sheep and goats, encouraging calm social behavior. A blend of traditional draft work and gentle groundwork training prepares the horses for farm chores or leisurely driving. Feed and turnout routines follow balanced nutritional plans tailored to support robust bone and muscle development. The farm’s open-sided barn provides shelter while allowing free air circulation, and horses receive daily grooming, routine hoof trimming, and regular farrier care.
