Little Prairie Cluns

Little Prairie Cluns, Clun Forest sheep in Elkhorn, Wisconsin, is located in southeastern Wisconsin near Milwaukee. Michele Stute has been raising this heritage breed for several years and follows breed association guidelines with regular health screenings and annual veterinary visits.

The flock grazes on rotational pastures to support natural foraging and experiences gentle handling from lambing through shearing. Young sheep are introduced to a friendly environment around children and other farm animals to encourage calm temperaments. Breeding stock is selected for hardiness, wool quality and sound structure, and fibers are sought by local fiber artists. Each lamb’s health and growth are tracked with detailed records to support informed breeding decisions and flock improvement. Throughout lambing season Michele monitors ewes closely and ensures timely vaccinations and parasite control in consultation with a veterinarian. Quality wool and gentle temperaments have become hallmarks of the flock.
