Boone Run Farm
Boone Run Farm, run by Paul and Jana Vleuten, raises Clun forest sheep on a 120-acre property in St. Paul's Station, Ontario, roughly an hour southwest of Guelph in Wellington County. After experimenting with Suffolk crosses and Dorpers, the Vleutens found that low-input, pasture-based production was the direction they wanted — and that the Clun forest breed was the right fit for that approach.
The farm operates under a regenerative grazing model, rotating the flock to improve soil health and rebuild land that had been in conventional crop production. Jana manages the day-to-day shepherding, and the flock is guarded by a team of Anatolian shepherd dogs that live out with the sheep year-round, deterring predators without removing them from the landscape. Border collies assist with moving the flock across the property, including pastures on the far side of a river.
For those looking for Clun forest sheep for sale in Ontario, Boone Run Farm offers animals bred specifically for low-input performance in a working pasture system. The ewes are selected for ease of lambing, strong mothering, and reliable twin production.
