Lazy TV Ranch, also known as Thorstenson Gelbvieh & Angus, has been raising performance Gelbvieh seedstock near Selby, South Dakota, in the north-central part of the state not far from Mobridge. Vaughn Thorstenson carries on a cattle operation that his family established in Walworth County going back to 1885, with registered Gelbvieh becoming the foundation of the program by the mid-1970s after Vaughn's father, Ken, recognized the breed's functional superiority and was among the first producers in the country to work with imported Gelbvieh genetics.

The ranch's approach to Gelbvieh cattle for sale in South Dakota centers on trouble-free, performance-driven seedstock. Fertility has long been a cornerstone of the program, including a strict no-second-chance policy for open cows, and sustained focus on longevity, feet, and udder quality earned the ranch recognition for leading the Gelbvieh breed in the number of Dams of Merit in 2019. AI breeding has been woven into the program since the early 1970s, with roughly 1,000 head bred artificially each year.

In 2009 the ranch added a GrowSafe feed efficiency system to measure residual feed intake, and between 350 and 400 bulls and heifers go through feed efficiency testing annually. The program also includes Balancer and Angus genetics, with well-known herd sires across all three breed types having contributed to a cowherd whose seedstock has reached buyers in more than 20 states and three foreign countries.
