Lane'S End

Lane’S End, Percherons, Oelwein, Iowa, in northeast Iowa near Cedar Rapids. Robert and Andrea Detweiler have been breeding draft horses for over a decade, hold memberships in the Percheron Horse Association, and maintain regular health evaluations including annual joint and hoof assessments.

Their Percherons live on spacious pastures with daily turnout and have access to a restored barn featuring clean stalls and straw bedding. Foals begin gentle handling within days of birth and join early socialization programs alongside farm dogs and visiting children to foster calm, adaptable temperaments.

The farm combines traditional Percheron breeding practices with detailed record-keeping, tracking bloodlines and performance in both driving and light farm work. This steady approach supports balanced conformation, sound movement, and a willingness to partner in equestrian pursuits across varied settings. Long-term relationships with local farriers and veterinarians ensure consistent hoof care and wellness monitoring throughout each horse’s life.
