Kevin E. Thompson

Kevin E. Thompson and Brenda K. Thompson, Percheron horses, Toledo, IA, are located in northwest Iowa near Sioux City. They have been breeding Percherons for over a decade and participate in the American Percheron Society’s programs to support breed standards. Regular veterinary exams and genetic testing ensure each colt and filly meets soundness and temperament benchmarks. Kevin grew up working with draft horses on his family’s acreage, and Brenda oversees foaling and early training in a purpose-built nursery barn.

Their horses grow up on open pasture with access to shelter and daily handling to foster a calm, cooperative nature. Several foals from the Thompson farm have been featured in regional plowing and driving demonstrations, reflecting the family’s emphasis on both tradition and versatility.
