John E. Otto

John E. Otto and Miriam Otto, Percheron horses in Moore, MT, are based in central Montana near Billings. They have been involved in Percheron breeding for over a decade and are active members of the Percheron Horse Association, following widely accepted health-testing protocols for joint and metabolic screening. Their horses regularly participate in regional evaluations, with offspring often placing well in conformation and driving competitions.

Foals are raised on open pasture and receive daily hands-on socialization to build trust and teach basic handling skills. Mature horses live in a family-run farm environment with shelter from seasonal extremes and routine veterinary care and farrier visits.

The Ottos focus on gentle temperaments suited to both light farm work and driving, reflecting the Percheron’s versatility and calm nature. Many of their horses go on to serve in educational settings or small-scale agriculture, underscoring the couple’s commitment to the breed’s living traditions.
