Jeffrey Dean

Jeffrey Dean, Percheron horses, Ridgeway, MO, in northeast Missouri near Quincy, has been breeding draft horses for over a decade. He holds membership in the Percheron Horse Association and conducts annual Coggins and soundness evaluations.

His horses enjoy generous turnout on rolling pastures and daily handling to support calm temperament and readiness for work or sport. Foals are introduced to basic halter training within weeks of birth and raised alongside older stock to encourage social growth. The farm’s roots trace back three generations and a recent review noted kindness in handling and sturdy confirmation in the yearlings.

Many alumni excel at local draft horse shows and some have gone on to enjoy trail work or educational demonstrations. Daily routines include grooming sessions that build trust and occasional farrier visits coordinated to individual hoof needs. All horses are fed a balanced diet of hay and formulated grain, adjusted seasonally under veterinary guidance.
