Jared Ellingson

Jared Ellingson, Percheron, Poplar Grove, IL, maintains a dedicated breeding program in northwestern Illinois and the Rockford area near Rockford. With over twelve years of breeding experience, he holds membership in the American Percheron Society and adheres to recommended health screenings for joint, metabolic, and genetic conditions.

His Percherons live on a small family farm with 50 acres of rolling pasture, where they enjoy daily turnout, balanced nutrition, and routine farrier and veterinary care. Foals are introduced to halter training and gentle handling within the first weeks of life, fostering trust and calm temperaments before formal groundwork begins.

Several of his horses have placed in regional fair competitions, earning ribbons for conformation and performance in both driving and riding classes. Each stage of foal development is documented and shared in a detailed health record. This approach offers insight into daily routines and helps horses adapt smoothly to new surroundings.
