Iron Quail Ranch
Iron Quail Ranch, run by Michael Rodocker, raises registered 100% New Zealand Kiko goats in Avra Valley, Arizona, situated between Saguaro National Park and Ironwood Forest National Monument, about 30 minutes northwest of Tucson.
The ranch has been operating as a modern off-grid regenerative homestead since 2018, with an emphasis on working in harmony with the native desert landscape of mesquites, ironwoods, cacti, and natural grasses. Kiko goats for sale in Arizona are registered through the National Kiko Registry, and each animal is microchipped and DNA-tested through UC Davis for verified parentage, with buyers receiving an official certificate of registration.
The program focuses on 100% New Zealand Kiko genetics — not percentage or crossbred animals — selected for growth performance tracked across 30-, 60-, 90-, 120-, and 150-day weigh intervals, as well as FAMACHA scores and body condition. The herd is raised hormone-free and antibiotic-free on native forage and alfalfa hay, and the goats are bred for dual-purpose use, suitable for meat, land management, and homestead living. The 15-acre property adjoins more than 200,000 acres of public lands, giving the animals ample open desert surroundings.
