Hockridge Farms

Hockridge Farms has been raising Limousin cattle in Dauphin, Manitoba for well over four decades, making it one of the longer-running programs of its kind in the Parkland region, about an hour and a half northwest of Brandon. Glen Hockridge and the family represent a third and fourth generation cattle operation, with their involvement in Limousin dating to the early 1980s.

The farm holds memberships in both the Canadian Limousin Association and the Manitoba Limousin Association, and it appears on the Canadian Limousin Association's Elite Herd roster. The registered herd has grown to over 100 cows, supported by a commercial cowherd of 500 to 600 head, making Hockridge Farms among the larger Limousin for sale operations in Manitoba.

Selection focuses on bulls that are polled, docile, and deep-bodied, with calving ease treated as a core priority. The herd runs both red and black animals, nearly all polled. Genetics are advanced through a structured artificial insemination program of 40 to 50 head annually within a closed herd, a setup that allows tight control over the breeding direction from one generation to the next. Yearling and two-year-old bulls along with bred heifers are offered directly from the farm each year.
