Hill Crest Cockers raises AKC American cocker spaniels on a working farm in Fitzgerald, Georgia, in the Ben Hill County area of southeast Georgia, roughly an hour north of Valdosta. Karen Branch founded the program out of a lifetime of owning and loving the breed, and her focus has remained on producing cockers that are healthy, intelligent, and even-tempered.

DNA health testing through Embark is a standard part of the program, and all puppies are veterinarian-checked and up to date on worming and their first vaccination before going to their new homes. The farm setting itself plays a meaningful role in how the dogs are raised — the cockers share the property with beef cattle, horses, and cats, giving puppies early exposure to a variety of animals and a wide-open environment to socialize and develop.
