Greenwood Cattle has been raising purebred Limousin northeast of Lloydminster, Saskatchewan, with roots going back to 1978, when Bernard Payne purchased 14 Limousin cows and set the operation in motion.

Scott and Jackie Payne, along with the next generation — Jayden and Jaxon — carry on that 4th and 5th generation farming tradition, making this a true multi-generational family program. The farm takes its name from a country school that once served the surrounding area. Health and nutrition are cited as top priorities in how the herd is managed throughout the year.

Beyond Limousin cattle for sale in Saskatchewan, Greenwood has expanded its purebred program to include Angus, Simmental, and Speckle Park, driven in part by the younger Paynes bringing new direction to the operation. The program maintains a semen and embryo inventory drawing on leading genetics across its Limousin and Angus divisions, and Greenwood animals have placed at major Canadian show events. The family is a regular presence in the show ring during summer and fall, and their bulls and females have sold through consignment sales across Canada.
