Golden Moose Homestead, run by Cory and Alexis, raises AKC-registered golden retrievers, Bernese mountain dogs, and mini long-haired dachshunds on their homestead in Boswell, Indiana, about 30 minutes from West Lafayette and two hours south of Chicago.

The operation is rooted in a family lifestyle built around animals. Alongside the dogs, the property is home to highland cattle, horses, rabbits, chickens, and more, which means puppies grow up in a setting with daily exposure to a wide range of sights, sounds, and creatures. Three young children also play an active role in early socialization and playtime, contributing to the program's hands-on puppy development approach.

Health and temperament are central priorities here. The mini dachshund breeding dogs are OFA-tested for eyes, heart, and luxating patellas, plus genetic health screening. Early neurological stimulation and the Puppy Culture protocol are applied to all litters from birth, with the goal of producing dachshund puppies in Indiana and beyond that are well-adjusted, easier to train, and sound from the start. Coat variety within the dachshund program includes cream, shaded cream, and piebald, though health and disposition always take precedence over color.
