Gerald Richey

Gerald Richey, Percheron horses, Tendoy, ID, serves Lemhi County and central Idaho near Idaho Falls. He continues a family tradition of caring for draft horses on land his family has farmed for decades and maintains American Percheron Horse Association registration with industry-standard health testing along with a focus on genetic soundness and overall well-being.

His breeding program is grounded in pasture-based living, daily human interaction and early socialization so horses develop calm temperaments suited for farm work or driving. Many of his Percherons have demonstrated their strength and willingness at local draft horse shows and carriage events. The farm operates with roomy paddocks and simple shelters, allowing natural herd dynamics while safeguarding health.

Each foal receives basic groundwork training before moving to advanced conditioning. Prospective owners can observe the horses on site by appointment and often note transparent updates on each foal’s growth and training progress.
