Gary Philpott

Gary Philpott, Percheron horses, Robson, WV, Clay County and the central West Virginia near Charleston. He has been breeding draft horses for more than 15 years, holds membership in the Percheron Horse Association of America, and follows guidelines for health testing and soundness certification.

Each mare and foal pair enjoys a sheltered barn stall with deep bedding through winter months, while summer months bring grazing on mixed hay fields beside the family’s vegetable garden. Horses benefit from daily turnout on open pastures and gentle handling to support early socialization and confidence. His approach reflects a family tradition on this Appalachian farm, where each foal receives individual attention.

Many of his foals have competed in regional shows, earning ribbons in driving and conformation classes. Every animal leaves the farm with a complete health record and a foundation for lasting soundness. Breeding emphasis on gentle temperament makes them well suited for carriage work and farm duties across changing seasons.
