Felixville Rat Terriers

Felixville Rat Terriers has been raising rat terriers on a farm in Clinton, Louisiana since breeding its first litter in 2013. The program is a family effort run by Theda Little and her daughter-in-law Joanna Little, situated in the Florida Parishes region of south Louisiana, roughly an hour from Baton Rouge.

Theda has owned rat terriers since 1993 and began showing in UKC and AKC events in 2010, giving the kennel deep roots in both the conformation and working worlds. Over the years, Felixville has produced numerous AKC champions, grand champions, and group-placing dogs, alongside dogs holding performance titles in agility, rally obedience, lure coursing, and barn hunt. Their foundation male, Traveler, earned several firsts for the breed in AKC conformation, including the first group one placement and the first AKC national specialty win.

The program's stated goal is to produce dogs that are conformationally correct, sound in structure, and bred with strong prey drive and good temperament — dogs capable of competing in the show ring and performance events alike while remaining devoted companions. Health testing is part of the process, with puppies bred to be clear of PLL and PRA-PRCD. The farm's open land, woods, and rolling hills give the dogs room for an active daily life.
