Exotic Bengals of San Diego is a small, in-home boutique Bengal cattery run by Dawn Schwiebert in Escondido, about 30 miles north of downtown San Diego. The program operates under TICA's Voluntary Code of Ethics and is one of the few TICA-recommended Bengal cat breeders in California.

Dawn's breeding stock comes from champion and early-generation bloodlines, including cats from CFA Grand Champion and Simply Blessed champion lines, with a focus on well-defined rosettes, glittering coats, and strong wild-type body structure across all Bengal colors. Breeding cats are fully health tested by veterinarians and labs, including HCM cardiac screening and genetic testing.

A defining priority of the cattery is early socialization. Kittens are raised inside the home alongside children, other cats, and dogs, with hands-on handling from birth. The program also maintains a Bengal rescue component alongside its breeding work, taking in cats that have come from less responsible sources. One kitten bred at the cattery has earned a TICA Best Bengal of the Year title in its color class.
