Baybengalz, run by Chantelle Scales, breeds bengal cats in Brixham, Devon, on the South Devon coast near Torquay. The programme got its start in 2018 after thorough research into breed ethics and standards, and has been progressing steadily since.

Health testing sits at the heart of the programme. All breeding cats are DNA-tested for PRA-B, PKDEF, and PKD before being used for breeding, and the programme also carries out routine cardiac screening for HCM. Cats sourced internationally — including a TICA Regional Winner Triple Grand Champion imported from Poland and a stud from Croatia — bring show-proven pedigrees and wild-type patterning into the lines.

Baybengalz works across brown, silver, and snow colour lines, with a deliberate focus on strong wild expression, well-contrasted markings, and calm, sociable temperament. Show participation is part of how the programme evaluates its cats, and several have placed in TICA all-breed finals. Bengal kittens from Baybengalz in Devon are available to families across the UK and internationally through a DEFRA-approved courier service.
