Elmer B. Stoltzfoos breeds Percheron horses in Fort Plain, NY, Montgomery County and the Mohawk Valley near Utica.

With experience spanning several breeding seasons and membership in national draft horse associations, he follows recommended health testing for soundness and fertility. His Percherons are raised on spacious pastures and handled daily to build trust and focus on a calm temperament. The family-run farm dates back to his grandfather’s original homestead, preserving a hands-on approach to breeding quality draft horses.

Elmer maintains a mixed grass hay and grain diet tailored to each horse’s needs, schedules annual veterinary visits, and provides seasonal hoof care from a local farrier. In cold winter months, stallions and mares are sheltered in well-ventilated barns with deep bedding for comfort. Several of his foals have placed well at county agricultural fairs for their steady gait and gentle disposition.
