East View raises Percheron horses in Opdyke, IL, southern Illinois near Evansville. East View has bred Percheron stock for several seasons and is a member of the American Percheron Horse Association, following recommended health screening protocols for every foal and stallion.

The horses are started indoors in a well-ventilated barn where they receive daily handling and basic groundwork. After weaning, every horse moves to 50 acres of mixed pasture land, ensuring plenty of turnout, social interaction, and slow, natural growth. Nutrition plans are tailored to each horse’s age and workload, combining local hay with a balanced grain mix and regular veterinary checkups.

East View’s farm heritage traces back to a family tradition of draft horse care, with several horses regularly appearing at regional agricultural fairs. That steady training approach has earned praise for calm temperaments and reliable performance in light draft and driving tasks.
