Dayton Ridge Farm

Dayton Ridge Farm raises Connemara ponies, sport ponies, and warmbloods in Richland Center, Wisconsin, situated in the Driftless Area of southwest Wisconsin about an hour northwest of Madison. Owner Janet Johnson established the farm as a family operation in 1988, and her breeding program has been producing Connemara pony foals and Connemara crosses since around 2002.

The program is built around two carefully selected stallions — HK's Danny Boy and Skyview's Triton — whose pedigrees trace back to prominent American Connemara foundation lines. Skyview's Triton earned a National Gold Medal from the American Warmblood Society and was chosen for an IRS Oldenburg 100-day stallion test, and most of the foals he produces have earned first-premium ratings with the North American Sport Pony Registry. Stock from the farm is predominantly double-registered with the American Connemara Pony Society and the North American Sport Pony Registry / American Warmblood Registry.

Foals are handled from birth and kept on consistent schedules for nutrition, de-worming, vaccines, and farrier care. Under-saddle training is held off until age three to allow proper physical development.
