Balmullo Farm

Balmullo Farm, Connemara ponies, Henrico, VA, Central Virginia near Richmond, is a family-run operation dedicated to sound temperament and strong conformation. Donna Duckworth has bred connemara pony foals for more than a decade, registering each with the Connemara Pony Society and monitoring genetic health through routine screenings. All breeding stock reside on lush pastures and receive daily handling to support early socialization and confidence.

Their feeding program prioritizes forage diversity and seasonal adjustments to maintain optimal condition through winter and summer. Many foals from Balmullo Farm have gone on to enjoy success in hunter and dressage rings or find gentle roles in therapy programs. Visitors often note the relaxed atmosphere and the team’s attentiveness to individual needs. The on-site stable includes heated water systems and sheltered paddocks to ensure comfort during adverse weather. Each foal is introduced to trailer loading and basic hoof care before leaving the farm.
