Chalk Mountain Family Farm, run by Linda Van Ruiten, raises bengal cats on a working farm in Iredell, Texas, a small community in Bosque County roughly an hour southwest of Fort Worth. The cattery focuses on producing brown rosetted and silver rosetted bengals, with melanistic, snow, and charcoal coats appearing on occasion.

Health testing is a central part of the program. Breeding adults undergo full DNA screening for genetic disorders and annual HCM cardiac evaluations performed by a board-certified veterinary cardiologist. Kittens leave the cattery vaccinated, spayed or neutered, microchipped, and vet-evaluated, and are registered with TICA and CFA.

Five children are actively involved in daily care, handling, and socializing the kittens from birth alongside the routines of family and farm life. That hands-on upbringing is a deliberate part of how Chalk Mountain Family Farm prepares its bengal kittens in Texas for life in a home with kids and other pets. The family also participates in local charitable giving and treats community involvement as an extension of the same values that shape how animals are raised on the property.
