Cabral Livestock raises registered gelbvieh cattle in Grass Valley, Oregon, in the north-central part of the state not far from The Dalles. Whitney Cabral manages the program, which is part of a broader family ranch operation with roots stretching back to the 1800s.

The gelbvieh herd grew out of a deliberate search for cattle that could check specific boxes: efficiency, strong maternal instincts, good milk production, fertility, and adaptability to Oregon's rangeland conditions. After working through other crosses over the years, including Limousin, Simmental, and Longhorn-cross genetics, the ranch settled on gelbvieh as the breed that best fit those goals. The program got its start by sourcing foundation females from Ledgerwood Gelbvieh and has continued adding registered females each year since.

The AI breeding program draws on sires including DLGO American Outlaw F015, DCH Hille G425, KCF Bennett E158, and DCSF Post Rock Granite 200P2. Cattle raised on the ranch graze native grasses across Sherman and Wasco Counties and summer in the foothills of the Blue Mountains, with no growth hormones or steroids used in the program. Angus and balancer cattle are also part of the registered cattle side of the operation, alongside AQHA horses.
