Buffalo Creek Farm

Buffalo Creek Farm breeds Murray grey cattle in Polo, Illinois, in northwest Illinois near Rockford. Martin Haak and Emma Stull have tended cows for more than a decade, following breed association guidelines and carrying out regular herd health testing. Their Murray grey cattle are born and raised on open pasture and rotated grazing to support natural behavior and strong immune systems. Calves spend their first weeks close to the barn yard and interact daily with family members to ensure gentle temperaments. Buffalo Creek Farm grows most of its own hay and forage to ensure balanced nutrition year round.

The farm sits on rolling fields that have been in continuous livestock production for generations, and the couple maintains records to track bloodlines and traits. Neighbors often comment on the evened disposition of the herd and the steady growth rates seen among yearlings.
