Bob and Marilyn Brink own and operate the ranch, and their connection to the breed goes back decades — Bob first encountered Braunvieh cattle in the 1970s during a college field trip to the Meat Animal Research Center in Clay Center, Nebraska, and began building his herd with purchased Braunvieh females in the 1980s, incorporating them into a commercial, Hereford-based cow herd.

Over more than 20 years, the Brinks developed their registered herd under the BLC prefix as active members of the Braunvieh Association of America. The program has emphasized performance data, with bulls marketed to commercial producers across the country. Cattle and Braunvieh-influenced steers from Brink Livestock have placed competitively in events such as Beef Empire Days and the BAA Genetic Challenge, demonstrating the herd's emphasis on feedyard and carcass merit.
