Brehm Farms

Brehm Farms has been raising Limousin and LimFlex cattle just southeast of San Antonio, Texas, since 1994, when Gene and Vicki Brehm first transitioned to the breed from a commercial Angus and Red Angus herd. The farm sits in the South Texas region, within the broader San Antonio metro area, and its long tenure makes it one of the more established sources for Limousin cattle for sale in Texas.

Vicki serves as the hands-on manager of the day-to-day operation, with Gene providing support and input, and together they have grown the herd from a small number of commercial cows to more than 100 registered cows and five herd bulls. The program today centers primarily on LimFlex — a Limousin-Angus or Limousin-Red Angus hybrid registered with the North American Limousin Foundation — a deliberate choice shaped by South Texas commercial cattle culture, where most cow herds carry American breed influence.

The main focus is developing herd bulls for commercial cattle producers, with replacement females that are selected for their ability to forage and raise a good calf also part of the offering. Bulls are developed on pasture with a controlled amount of supplemental feed, then vaccinated, wormed, and fertility tested before leaving the farm. Each animal carries a link to its registration and performance records through the North American Limousin Foundation, and the farm also participates in youth livestock programs by welcoming students to select heifer calves for show projects.
