Bestview

Bestview Bengals is a TICA- and CFA-registered cattery run by Megan Byerly Ellenburg in the SF Bay Area, about 30 miles south of San Francisco. The cattery's roots go back to 2015, when the family brought home their first pet bengals; breeding began in earnest in 2019 after the household settled into its first home.

The program focuses on producing bengal kittens that are healthy, well-socialized, and make strong companions. All breeding cats undergo genetic testing, and because no DNA test exists for hypertrophic cardiomyopathy in bengals, every breeding cat also receives HCM cardiac screenings every 12 to 18 months from age one through at least age eight. The cattery has also signed the TICA Voluntary Code of Ethics, adding another layer of accountability to its breeding standards.

In addition to bengals, Bestview expanded into Devon Rex in 2023 after the breed caught the family's attention the year prior.
