Afterhours German Wirehaired Pointers & Basset Fauve de Bretagne has been breeding German wirehaired pointers out of Reddick, Florida since 1971, making it one of the longer-running programs of its kind in the state. Owner Christi Chism carries on a multi-generational family tradition started by her mother, Christine Whitmore, and the kennel now spans three generations of AKC Breeders of Merit.

The program's breeding priorities center on correct breed type, conformation, field drive, temperament, and health — all evaluated together rather than in isolation. Health testing is a particular area of emphasis: the kennel holds over 50 CHIC-certified German wirehaired pointers and more than 15 CHIC-certified Basset Fauves de Bretagne in its program, a figure the kennel reports as the highest of any breeder for both breeds. Afterhours was also recognized as the first AKC Breeder of Merit for the Basset Fauve de Bretagne.

On the show and field side, the kennel's record includes Best in Show dogs, National and Regional Specialty winners, NAVHDA Utility Test Prize 1 dogs, Master Hunters, and Grand Champions across decades of competition.
