Siberian

The Siberian tiger, more accurately called the Amur tiger in many conservation settings, is the northern tiger form historically associated with the Russian Far East and neighboring parts of northeast Asia. It tends to be discussed for its large size, pale winter coat, and adaptation to cold forest habitat. The label is regional and conservation-based, not a domestic breed or color line.

Management centers on protecting wild habitat, reducing conflict with people, and maintaining carefully documented zoo populations. In captivity, Amur tigers need spacious enclosures, weather-aware shelter, water access, enrichment that encourages movement, and veterinary planning for a very large carnivore. Breeding decisions should be coordinated through recognized programs, because uncertain ancestry or casual pairing can weaken the value of records used for conservation planning.
