Pacific parrotlets are small South American parrots with short tails, compact bodies, and a direct, assertive manner. The wild-type bird is green; captive color labels can include blue, yellow forms, lutino, albino, pied, and white, but those names require more than a quick glance when inheritance or resale records matter.

For rescues, pet buyers, and veterinarians, an unknown-breed entry is still enough to plan species-appropriate care. The bird needs fine-barred housing, flight or exercise time, chewable toys, and a varied diet with vegetables and controlled seed. Quarantine is sensible when history is missing, especially before introducing it to other parrots.
