Blue
A blue guppy is a fancy guppy line selected for blue coloration in the body, fins, or both. The shade can range from pale steel and powder blue to deeper royal or metallic blue, and it may be combined with delta tails, Moscow lines, snakeskin patterning, or solid show goals. Because guppy color is layered, blue often depends on both genetics and how iridescent cells show under aquarium light.
Blue guppies need the same stable, clean livebearer setup as other Poecilia reticulata strains, with enough plant cover for fry and gentle water movement for large-finned males. Breeders cull and pair carefully to avoid washed-out color, uneven finnage, or weak body shape. In community tanks, blue males can be easy to track visually, but fin-nipping tankmates should be avoided when the line has broad tails.
