Dunner
The Dunner bearded dragon is a pattern and scale-orientation morph of Pogona vitticeps. Rather than the regular ladder-like striping seen on many normal dragons, Dunners often have broken bars, scattered spots, irregular tail bands, and scales that point in less uniform directions along the body. The trait can appear on normal, red, citrus, hypo, translucent, or leatherback backgrounds, so two Dunners may look quite different in color. In the pet trade it is treated as a heritable morph, commonly described as dominant, though expression can range from subtle to bold.
A Dunner needs standard bearded dragon husbandry: reliable heat gradients, high-output UVB, a secure dry enclosure, and a balanced mix of appropriately sized insects and greens. The scale pattern does not remove the need for normal shedding support or careful hydration. When breeding, it helps to photograph juveniles and keep pairing records, because weakly marked Dunners can be confused with high-pattern normals. Buyers should look past the pattern to body condition, straight limbs, a normal bite, and steady feeding behavior.
