Citrus
Citrus bearded dragons are selectively bred color morphs of the central bearded dragon, Pogona vitticeps, showing yellow, lemon, gold, or yellow-orange tones. The name is used by breeders for a color line rather than a single simple mutation, so intensity varies between families and even among clutchmates. Some citrus dragons also carry hypo, translucent, leatherback, or tiger pattern traits, which can make the color look cleaner or brighter. Hatchlings may color up after several sheds, while adults often show their best color when warm, unstressed, and fully shed.
Care is the same as for other bearded dragons: a dry, well-lit enclosure with a strong basking area, quality UVB, and a diet that shifts from insect-heavy for juveniles to more leafy greens in adults. Color should not outweigh structure, appetite, alertness, and good breeding history when choosing an animal. Breeders working with citrus lines usually select for clear yellow expression over several generations and should avoid pairing closely related dragons just to intensify shade.
