Wyndstar

Wyndstar Kennels, run by Kerry Kirtley in San Bernardino, has been producing Australian shepherds since the early 1980s, making it one of the longer-running programs for Australian shepherd breeders in Southern California. Kerry's background spans both the conformation ring and the judge's table — she has served as an ASCA Senior Breeder Judge since 2005 and an AKC judge of Australian shepherds, and was approved to judge miniature American shepherds in 2021.

The program has earned significant recognition over the decades. Wyndstar has produced multiple group and Best in Show Australian shepherds, and in 2019 the kennel achieved USASA Hall of Fame status — a distinction reflecting long-term consistency in the breed. Kerry has also judged at the USASA Nationals, including Sweepstakes and the Top 20.

Both Australian shepherds and miniature American shepherds are registered under AKC and ASCA. The kennel's reach extends beyond Kerry herself; a broader network of Wyndstar-bred dogs has been shown across conformation, herding, and obedience venues throughout the country.
