Windswept Acres has been breeding Romney sheep for more than a decade, following guidelines from national and regional sheep associations and performing routine health screening to monitor for genetic conditions and maintain flock vigor. Each lamb is raised on open pastures with gentle handling from an early age, which encourages calm behavior and strong social bonds. The sheep have access to barns fitted with dry bedding in winter and shaded run-in shelters during warmer months.

The farm sits on rolling fields edged by maple groves, a setting that reflects a long-standing commitment to sustainable land stewardship. Visitors often remark on the sheep’s hardy wool and friendly nature, and Susan Posbergh shares her knowledge through occasional workshops on pasture rotation and flock health. Most lambs arrive in spring, and their fleece is prized by local fiber artisans for its lustrous quality.
