Wilson Ranch

Wilson Ranch, operated by Rob Wilson, raises native Aberdeen Angus cattle on a 317-acre spread in Heber Springs, Arkansas, situated in the Ozark foothills roughly an hour north of Little Rock.

Rob Wilson grew up in the Heber Springs area, where his family farmed nearby, and that upbringing shaped the direction of the ranch. The herd's origins trace to a deliberate search for old-style, compact Aberdeen Angus genetics — work that led to sourcing original 1960s semen lines and a direct connection with Scottish bloodlines to preserve the pure, traditional Scotch bloodlines largely absent from modern commercial stock. The ranch also raises Old World Black Cattle alongside the native Angus.

The cattle are raised on a grass-fed program, with the ranch committed to non-GMO and antibiotic-free practices across all its livestock. Pasture irrigation draws on an adaptable New Zealand pod system fed by on-farm ponds, helping sustain consistent grazing through Arkansas summers. Buyers looking for native black Angus cattle in Arkansas will find a program rooted in heritage genetics and working-ranch land management rather than feedlot-oriented selection.
