Willow Glen Farm

Willow Glen Farm raises registered Highland cattle in the heart of east-central Alberta, with Jaylyn Ettinger and Grant Marchand running the operation out of Czar, roughly two hours southeast of Edmonton.

The farm is an active member of both the Canadian Highland Cattle Society and the American Highland Cattle Association, and holds registration with the Verified Beef Production+ program, reflecting a commitment to food safety and traceability. Detailed health records are kept on all animals and made available to buyers.

Highland cattle for sale in Alberta from Willow Glen come from a forage-based program where the animals live on open pasture with room to select prime forage. Routine antibiotics, growth hormones, and ionophores are not used; veterinary care is provided when an animal is sick or injured. All livestock are individually identified, and the farm emphasizes low-stress handling, including conditioning calves with grain to come when called.

The fold originally drew Jaylyn and Grant toward highlands for their ease of handling, low-maintenance nature, and ability to finish well on grass. Breeding stock, semen, and embryos are offered periodically alongside the grassfed beef program.
