Watermark Retrievers

Watermark Retrievers raises golden retrievers and Labrador retrievers in Giddings, Texas, about 45 minutes outside of Austin in the Lee County area of Central Texas. The program is led by Mary Tatum, DVM, a veterinarian and lifelong retriever enthusiast who acquired her first Labrador retriever in 1980 to compete at the field trial level.

The training and breeding operation is built around a 38-acre property with two ponds in Serbin, just south of Giddings, giving the dogs ample water and land for field work. Training follows positive reinforcement methods, and Mary remains actively involved in running, training, and judging field trials with both breeds.
