Turtle Mountain Fainters

Turtle Mountain Fainters, run by Heather and Vince Young, raises fainting (myotonic) goats in the Turtle Mountains region of southern Manitoba, near the town of Deloraine. The herd got its start in the summer of 2016, and the operation has grown steadily since those first six animals arrived. The farm is a registered member of the Myotonic Goat Registry and places a clear emphasis on continually strengthening genetics by incorporating imported US bloodlines into the Canadian herd. Health testing is a documented priority, with CAE and CL testing completed in 2023 and Johne's testing done in 2025, all returning negative results.

Turtle Mountain Fainters has been raising registered fainting goats in Deloraine, Manitoba, since 2016, making it one of the established sources for myotonic goats for sale in southern Manitoba. Vince and Heather Young operate the farm from the Turtle Mountains region, a rolling, forested plateau in the southwestern corner of the province, roughly an hour southeast of Brandon.

The herd traces back to six founding animals brought home across the summer and fall of 2016, and it has expanded considerably since. A consistent focus on genetics sets the program apart: the Youngs actively bring in US bloodlines to broaden the herd's diversity, selecting for strong conformation, vivid coloring, and moonspot genetics alongside well-established Canadian lines. The result is a breeding roster that carries documented American pedigrees while remaining rooted in a Manitoba farm setting.

Health transparency is a clear priority at Turtle Mountain Fainters. CAE and CL testing was completed in 2023 with all animals returning negative results, and Johne's testing conducted in 2025 also came back clean across the board. The farm is a member of the Myotonic Goat Registry, and animals are registered through that organization.
