Tower Ranch

Tower Ranch is a small sheep operation run by Michelle Olsen in Palmer, Alaska, situated in the Matanuska-Susitna Valley about 45 miles north of Anchorage. The ranch's focus centers on fine-fleece breeds, with Teeswater sheep among the animals raised there.

Teeswater sheep for sale in Alaska are rare, and Tower Ranch is one of the few operations in the state working with the breed. The ranch follows North American breeding practices for Teeswaters, which involve the use of imported semen from purebred rams to produce lambs that qualify as North American Purebred at over 96% genetic purity. Wool quality is a clear priority: Michelle has described her guiding principle as selecting for the softest, finest fleece possible.

The ranch raises its sheep on pasture using locally sourced Alaska-grown hay and grain, and also incorporates spent grains from nearby breweries as a supplemental feed — a practice that keeps inputs local and reduces waste. No added growth hormones or antibiotics are used. Guardian dogs are part of the daily operation, with Maremma sheepdogs kept alongside the flock.
