Tempest Farm
Tempest Farm raises fainting (myotonic) goats in Lyndeborough, New Hampshire, a small town in the Monadnock Region about 40 miles northwest of Manchester. Harold Patterson keeps a small herd with a focus on breeding healthy goats that meet the breed standard for Tennessee fainting goats, with the goal of improvement in each generation.
The farm traces its foundation stock to two well-regarded New England programs: Morgan Hill Farm in Vermont and Goat Flower Farm, and those connections continue to shape the herd's lineage. Kids are raised underfoot and fed hay grown on the farm itself, and the herd shares the property with horses, dogs, cats, and bantam chickens.
Buyers of fainting goats in New Hampshire from Tempest Farm receive kids that are vaccinated, wormed, and disbudded, along with registration information for the Myotonic Goat Registry. The farm does not place single goats into homes that don't already have goats, and stays in contact with buyers after the sale to help with questions and care.
