Tarheel Newfoundlands

Tarheel Newfoundlands raises Newfoundland dogs in Siler City, North Carolina, a small community in Chatham County about 45 minutes southwest of Raleigh. The program is run by Michelle Hayhurst and grew out of a personal love for the breed that began in 2014, when the family brought home their first Newfoundland as a pet.

Over the following years the household expanded to include several more dogs, and that experience eventually shaped a breeding program. The Newfoundlands at Tarheel are raised as part of the family household, spending time both indoors and outdoors and interacting regularly with adults and children. Dogs are AKC registered and come from healthy bloodlines. Families searching for Newfoundland puppies in North Carolina will find a program rooted in everyday home life rather than a large-scale kennel setting.
