Tails Up Standard Poodles

Tails Up Standard Poodles, run by Debbie Summetscales in Valdese, North Carolina, breeds AKC-registered standard poodles in the foothills of the Blue Ridge, roughly an hour west of Charlotte. The program grew out of a lifelong goal to build a quality kennel focused on this breed, and Debbie has dedicated her retirement years to it.

The program specializes in a wide range of coat colors and patterns, including phantoms, parties, and sables in shades such as cafe au lait, red, black, apricot, chocolate, and cream — making it one of the more color-diverse sources for standard poodle puppies in North Carolina. Genetic testing is conducted on both sire and dam to support a responsible breeding program, and all veterinary care is handled by a licensed vet before puppies leave for their homes. Puppies are socialized and housebroken prior to placement, and each one is microchipped before going home.
