Susqudilla Kennels, run by Robyn Haskin in Bainbridge, New York, breeds Chesapeake bay retrievers and Nova Scotia duck tolling retrievers in the foothills of the Catskill Mountains, roughly an hour from Binghamton.

The kennel has been working with Chesapeake bay retrievers since 1992 and added duck tollers to its program in 2008, giving it one of the longer running dual-retriever histories among Chesapeake bay retriever breeders in New York. Robyn's approach is grounded in the idea that structure and function go hand in hand — that a dog built correctly can succeed across a wide range of activities. That philosophy has shown up in the ring, the field, and agility venues, with Susqudilla Chesapeakes placing in the top 20 nationally through their owners' competitive work.

Breedings are researched with health and temperament as the primary criteria, using genetic testing and evaluation to guide pairing decisions. Nova Scotia duck tolling retrievers round out the program as a second sporting breed, sharing the same emphasis on sound structure and even, willing temperament.
