Stone Run Standard Poodles

Stone Run Standard Poodles, based in Northampton, Pennsylvania, raises AKC-registered standard poodles in the Lehigh Valley, about 15 miles north of Allentown. The program is a collaboration between Connie Unger and her partner Gloria Boyle, who began working together after meeting at a Lehigh Valley Kennel Club show.

Their shared goal is the preservation of the purebred standard poodle, with breeding decisions guided by breed standards, structure, temperament, and health. Stud dogs are selected after a careful review of pedigrees and health documentation, and the program makes a point of evaluating each candidate in person before any pairing is made. Stone Run holds AKC Breeder of Merit status and maintains memberships in the Lehigh Valley Kennel Club and the Poodle Club of the Lehigh Valley.

Puppies are whelped inside the home and raised in family living spaces rather than an outside kennel, giving them early contact with household routines and other dogs. Once vaccinated, they are introduced to a wide range of people, including children, as part of a structured socialization approach intended to support a smooth transition into a new home. The program has also produced show dogs competing at the national level, alongside companions and service dogs, reflecting the range of homes these standard poodle puppies are placed in.
