Spin River Meadows

Spin River Meadows raises fainting (myotonic) goats in Salem, OR, Marion County and Willamette Valley near Portland. Its owner, Mona Hayles Kanner, has been raising goats on this family farm for over a decade and follows nationally recognized registry guidelines with regular health screenings. All breeding stock participate in routine fecal exams and a hoof trimming schedule to maintain herd health. Animals are born and raised in a pasture-based system on gently rolling fields along Sunny View Road, with rotational grazing to support soil vitality.

Kids receive daily social interaction to encourage calm temperaments and easy handling. Seasonal kidding is timed to match pasture growth, reducing the need for supplemental feed. The herd includes lines selected for strong bone health and consistent milk quality with rich butterfat. Careful management ensures balanced nutrition and provides opportunities for enrichment in sheltered loafing areas.
